Diagnostic help
#31
Stevethevan, it seems to be that you are very driven to get your issues sorted but are hampered by the computer bits.

To try to give you a bit of encouragement, once you have Diagbox up and running it will be a very powerful diagnostic and modding tool for a lot of PSA cars, and using it is often little more then ticking option boxes.

As such, it may even be worth the investment of going with one of those specialist companies, but however you get there, once you do, you won't look back.

Maybe you have a mate with PC skills who could work with you?

Here's a good guide, written by a guy on the Peugeot site but for Diagbox. I've read through and it's spot on. This might help more than a Chinese video and saves me a lot of typing...

I'm not an expert with the later vehicles, but on older cars, Diagbox will often show faults that have only happened for a couple of seconds or less. I think the idea is that if they keep occurring, you can see a trend.
Of all your problem codes, I'm wondering if it's the last one that's causing the actual problem, but I may be wrong. Others on here may have other / better ideas.
Have you tried to clear the faults and see what comes back on a second scan?

When I bought the van I found a few loose connections in the fuse box
Hopefully the U faults are connected to these
My oil level is correct , and the oil level indicator on the dash shows low , so I’m not worried about that
The crankcase heater may be the reason for the fault displaying on the dash/ radio screen
I’ve reset the faults and as you suggested ,I’ll give it another scan tomorrow after a run
Anyone have a picture or know where the cracnkcase heater is or what it is ?

From a bit of googling, it looks like P16A5 - P16A8 are for the same item.
P16A5 Crankcase ventilation heater A - short to positive Wiring, crankcase vent heater
P16A6 Crankcase ventilation heater A - short to ground Wiring, crankcase vent heater
P16A7 Crankcase ventilation heater A - open circuit Wiring, crankcase vent heater
P16A8 Crankcase ventilation heater B - short to positive Wiring, crankcase vent heater

If so, this may be of some use to describe where the heater is..

That’s for the effort , I took the van for a short run and the fault popped up on starting the van for the return journey
It usually pops up every third start up
Re did the scan and it said oil level sensor faulty with the engine running
Nothing else
I’ll look to get the sensor changed and maybe scan one week apart to see if anything else reappears
Thank for everyone’s help
