Torsion bar end cap??
#1
Hi, Folks

what is the metal plate that screws across the end of the torsion bars called? I believe it has a loop bent over to clip the handbrake cable to.

Are they available new?

Mine have dissolved on the salty Scottish winter roads.

This may hep you identify the part you need.

Thanks for that, jj9, alas I'm not seeing the part I need on this diagram. Nor can I find it pictured on any googled images. It's the ABS sensor cable it supports, not the handbrake, my mistake.
It can be seen in this video at 1.24 in, still attached to the cable, hanging down, lower left of screen.

Yeah I see the bracket you mean, I can't see it on any of the cat car diagrams either   Sad

Aye, it is strange, not the end of the world, I can make something, but it seems odd that they are not listed.
Thanks for your responses, though.

Can you possibly use a stainless P clip - the sort that has a rubber liner - attached under one of the cap bolts ?
Alternatively make a strip with a P shape bent at the free end and drill a hole in the other end for the bolt. There's little stress on the 'loop' and it's probably there to anchor the cable to avoid chafing?

Aye, have plenty of rubber lined P clips, can whack one on the end of the clamped torsion bar.

Thanks for all the responses.
