Service Schedule
#1
Hi

Im the proud owner of a 2014 Lingo XTR with 58k miles on the clock. It has been serviced at Citroen since birth. Given the age and the miles, what should I be looking to change/replace/renew with its next service? The dealer said its next service is the 'big one' whatever that means.

The persson I got this car from was fanatical about this car and its pristine. So I want to carry on this momentum of care and give it a good service. So no restrictions to what I will spend, so what we talking this car will need next service? What is the best oil etc for it? TIA Big Grin

Welcome!

The 'big' service would probably include the cambelt & water pump, but the rule of thumb for that is at 100k miles or 10 years. There are plenty of posts and several opinions about the best oil, have a search around the forum to get some ideas.

Hi, Welcome to the forum.
I personally place no real value on 'service at Citroen'. This is based on my own experience where I find independent specialists ( eg. french car specialist) to be more reliable and trustworthy. There are some on the forum with excellent reputations.

Replacement of your timing kit and coolant pump is due at 112000 miles or 10 years. I would never leave it that long.
Replacement ancillary drive belt is 112000 or 10 years, same as above.                      ditto
Replacement fuel filter (diesel) is at 32000 miles or every 4 years so yours should be due a second one any time soon at 8 years of age.
Air filter - every 32000 miles or every 4 years.
Brake fluid every 2 years, I don't suspect many do it at that frequency but you never know.
Passenger compartment filter - 16000 miles or every two years.
Check PH of the coolant 80000/4 years, then every 16000 miles of each year.

The belts are obviously vital but I place a lot of emphasis on my diesel fuel filter, I replace it before schedule.

Above are for normal conditions of use, not taxi or parcel delivery etc etc.

I'm not anything of an expert like others on here but the oil that's listed for mine is 00W30 B71 2312 (c1C2) - EM : 00W30 B71 2312, all of which means not a lot to me.

Certainly worth keeping up the regular servicing, but there'll be a balance to be struck between the value of the vehicle versus the cost of using main dealer type of servicing - you are paying for all of the posh buildings, forcourt & admin staff etc. !  If in time you can find a good independent that you can trust to look after the car on the 'basics'  then it could be the way forward.
Unfortunately it costs the same or more to service an old and almost worthless car as a newer one !
Good luck with your new purchase!

Just let the main dealer workshop service it as per schedule. It has worked up to now so let it continue. Correct oil might be Total Quartz Ineo ECS 5w30 which for later models changed to Ineo First 0w30. Your Cit workshop should advise.
