Don't forget that's only new sales. Our old bangers could gain a great deal in value whilst there are still petrol stations about.

What concerns me is the supposed lifespan of the batts - ten years?

Prices seem to vary a lot - the Twitter account @HubNutVids saw diesel at £1.88 per litre somewhere in Wales the other day, whereas yesterday I got some at 'only' £1.50 at the local Sainsbury's...

Ahh the smell of coal gas! ,brings back memories best forgotten. One of my fathers wartime pal was called "stinky " cos he worked in a local gasworks.

Speaking of wartime what about the gas bladders on the roof of a truck with a wood gas producer . I believe it heated up wood to get wood gas to run the engine , wonder that they weren't blown away with a great big gas bag on the back of them. I don't think they will catch on nowadays .

If we only had enough mines for the coal, may have to reopen a few.

Fuel tanks will have to be designed to stop people punching holes in them to drain the contents.

It is my understanding from discussions with the local Citroen and Vauxhall dealers that it is now not possible to order a Right Hand Drive Berlingo/Combo/Rifter petrol or diesel MPV although vans are stillavailable. Apparently it is because of the lead time between orders and manufacture which is currently more than 6 months and production is stopping in June 2022 for RHD versions.

We have recently bought an almost new Combo Life because of this

I spoke to someone on a hospital car park yesterday who has had a 7 seater on order since December, their delivery date has been put back again it is now September

Seemingly there is a requirement from April that building site machines will have to use white diesel instead of red diesel.

That will put up the cost of new houses and increased security to stop fuel thefts from building sites.
To make builders use electric dump trucks etc ?

It's true from a quick search around, apparently it's to encourage the use of alternate fuels. But the immediate impact will of course be higher prices for the construction industry.
