Boot Central Locking issue 04 plate

Hi all, 

I have a strange problem with my boot locking on my 2004 Berlingo M'Space Desire 2.0HDi.

When pressing the lock button on the key, the boot remains unlocked. I can hear the distinct sound of the locks actuating at the rear of the car, but no joy.

Luckily it does lock using the key, so security isn't a worry. It's just a pain having to remember to lock the boot manually each time the car's used.

If anyone has come across a similar issue, I'd love to hear if you had a solution.

My (recently died) 2003 Bee didn't have remote keys, but whenever I turned the key in the driver's door, all the car's locks locked / unlocked including the boot. If I used it in any other lock (boot, passenger door) only that lock operated.

My previous ZX would do a similar thing. If locked manually with the key it would then lock and unlock as you'd expect with the central locking system. 
But if manually left unlocked then it remained unlocked even when the central locking was set to lock.  I don't think it was a fault, it was Citroen logic.
My former Berlingo had a locking issue on the tailgate whereby the locking solenoid wasn't moving the mechanism enough to operate the lock - maybe take the trim panel off and observe the innerds!
