hi all.
can someone tell me what the smaller fuse box is for inside the engine compt.?
there is the large one above the wing but also a small one that contains 2 40 amp fuses and 2 relays.
my haynes manual does not mention the smaller one.
(then again it says the horn fuse is F17 on the fuse panel under the dash, but there is no F17 !!
mine is a late model, 2003/2004.
thanks.

They may be for the optional water heater that's in line with the heater hoses somewhere down above the gearbox. Haynes is not often called the BOL for nothing!

The water heater gets the engine & the cabin heater warmer more quickly when it's really cold outside. Taking the fuses out would make no difference to normal running if they are what I think they are.

cheers, i will take a look.
my berlingo heater takes ages to warm up, the engine itself never seems to reach normal temp, but that could be the gauge not showing the right temp, or the sender gunked up maybe.

You may or may not have an airpocket, but the diesels are like that. They are just more efficient than petrol ones, hence the coolant that gives you the heat takes longer to get hotter. Operating temp on the 1.6HDi is 80-82C. It takes much longer time to get to that with my 1.6HDi than with my 1.6 petrol.

I think you need to have the fan on to get the water heater on from cold, I usually put mine on 1, seems to warm up much more quickly.
