Me too. I've tried several sets and they've all gone in no time. That's not to say that normal ones last any longer, but they are cheaper.

I have had 2 sets of LED 501; one of them melted!
Now gone to the blue tinted, xenon, glass, ordinary, filament type.
They are excellent. Loads brighter than standard and whiter light.
About 99p a pair off fleabay.

The problem is,LED bulbs don't like a lot of heat, and when you have the headlights on there's a fair amount of heat generated within the glass.

Hi Guys i attempted to do them this evening in the dark at it was a lot easier than i thought and only took 5 minutes like muply said but i couldnt have done it so quick without all your help.

I did find the near side a liitle harder because of fuse box and all other wiring but never the less the task is complete now and i have added a picture to show the led bulbs although it is dark and you cant see much. Also in relation to you guys suggesting they wont last long all i can say is i hope they do as i dont want to replace them in a hurry, the ones i have a 9 smd type led an i have had them before in a renault scenic i had and they lasted 2 years and was still working when got rid of car so i hope these last as long

thanks again for your help everyone.

Glad I found this, my offside dip has gone so went to Halfords and got a pair of new bulbs then spent about 20 minutes in their car park struggling to locate the blown bulb to remove it!

Eventually I gave up, been searching online for some hints so now I know I was right in thinking it’s the 2 wires in the headlamp enclosure but the bulb is blind to sight.

I’ll give it another go now I’ve read some topics on it but if I struggle I’ll go buy another pair of bulbs and pay Halfords to do it for me with the fitting service that they offer for about £6 ?
