Hi,
I’ve got a 2014 van that has has a mounting point for a rear view mirror but no mirror. It looks like it has a nut that should come off and maybe screw the mirror too? I’ve tried to remove it but no luck. I’m wanting to use that mounting point to mount a switch panel for beacons, work lights, spot lights etc… does anyone have any ideas?? I’ve attached pictures so you know what I’m on about.
I tried to fix your picture but I am not sure what is wrong with it, you may want to try and upload it again.
Now an ex Berlingo owner, I have a C4
2010 (B9) Berlingo Multispace XTR HDi 112 - Kyanos Blue
Previously - 2002 (M49) Berlingo Multispace 2.0 HDi Diesel - Arctic Steel
I don't think it will detach
The fixing is put in during manufacturer of the windscreen.
I had some scrote crack my screen a few years back
The autoglass guy brought a replacement with no mirror mount and told me he couldn't use it.
I said I didn't mind as I only use the door mirrors and the factory fitted bulkhead obscures most of the view anyway.
He still refused saying it,would be illegal because my van has windows in the back door.
Rebooked the job and fitted one with a mount.
He could have been a pedantic s'ole or he may have been right
Don't know.
I’m not wanting to remove the whole mounting, it looks like it has a nut the 6 sides thing which screws onto the round plate under it. I’m wondering if anyone does know if this is a nut or not before I try and unscrew it and shatter the window
It isn't a nut, its a moulded clip for the mirror to clip onto:
