Steel wheel options

My current wheels are 14" X 5.5", ET24 with 175/65 tyres.

To keep the same rolling radius on a 15" X 7" wheel it looks like I would need 225/45 tyres.

I would need zero offset wheels to put them 1" (approx) further out into the arches.

If you look at either your handbook or Haynes it lists the possible wheel/tyre combinations that were available when the van was supplied - from what I can see the next step up would be 185/65 R15.  With increased offset the handling will be negatively affected, wheel bearing life will be reduced and additional load on the rear axle bushes. Apart from that, all good!

If the new wheels & tyres are the same radius / diameter overall, they won't really look any different in the wheel arches? I thought there was a 15" steel rim for the M59 Berlingo car as a standard option, but it's been a while since I had my M59.

A 2007 Multispace brochure (attached) says the following:

1.4i Euro IV
and 1.6 HDi 75 hp Euro IV:
14" steel wheels with 175/70 R14 tyres


1.6i 16V Euro IV
and 1.6 HDi 92 hp Euro IV:
15" steel wheels with 185/65 R15 tyres

This is for the M59; I also have a 2008 owner's manual but it is for the B9 and strangely does not give any specs for wheels or tyres.

It would be DECREASED offset, but that doesn't look like an option anyway. The wheels in the ebay link are ET24, the same as I've got now. The 185/65 R15 would be bigger diameter so the speedo would be out.

An update:

Went with the 6J X 15" ET18 wheels with 205/50 R15 tyres and 15mm spacers on the rear.
