Lost keys - ECU replacement?
#1
So - I lent my Berlingo to a friend, who has managed to lose the only key I had for it.

I don't have the book packs, so no codes or pins readily available.

Would I be correct in saying the a replacemt ECU, BSI and lock set for an HDI would do the job?

I will be able to get into it, but obviously it's currently very immobile.

Seems to be a cheaper solution than going to Citroen for codes, and then £240 for getting a new key cut and coded.

It's a 2006 Multispace 1.6 HDI

TIA!

Last time I looked into this, you could get the code for about £20 from Citroen, a new key without remote was also about £20. You will need Lexia / Diagbox to add the key to the ECU.

There were 2 options for the code:
1, Just the code on a piece of paper
2, The code printed on the plastic 'credit card'

You will need both the key number & ECU code from Citroen but they should provide both in either of the cases above.
A search on the forum should show up some threads on where to get keys from on eBay.

For my Expert van, I got a mobile locksmith to provide a new remote key and mend the door lock, that cost me about £150 but I did have an old key he could copy.
