BSI Issue (No Front Park or Rear Lights)

Hi All, I've done my intro and had a browse and can't find the exact answer but I'm sure you guys can help.
I have a 2007 1.6 Hdi Berlingo Van with approx 60k miles and decided to put on a toe bar and lighting kit. Fitting the toe bar was easy and I wired the light socket into the tail light wires and all was great. Note that I was advise that this van didn’t need a smart relay.
Some time later with a particular trailer I noticed that the drivers side front park and tail light wasn't working and found out that it was the BSI unit. I tried in another one to see what happened and the lights worked. I was reliably informed that it was an earthing problem with the wiring of the lighting socket that caused the issue which I sorted the earth by bolting a large wire to the body, took a wire across the rear of the van to power the driver’s side tail light from the passengers side and assumed I was good to go.
Shortly afterward discovered that whatever the fault was had now blown the passenger side lights and left me with just the heads and dips, no front park lights, tail lights or interior lights around the dash itself, i.e. back lights on the heater controls, etc….
I’ve tried several different ignition kits in the van (BSI, ECU & Key Chip) all of which worked to a certain extent but each had some issue, i.e. electric windows didn’t work, van wouldn’t start, dash went crazy, etc…
So my question is what is the best thing to do here, I noticed that one guy with an Airbag issue managed to repair his BSI, guys have tried resetting their unit all with varying success, and I guess I just want a bit of advise as to what options are out there for me at this stage.
A couple of other points to note, with all the trial and error with other kits the mileage is now up at 127k for the original 60k and the kit in the van I’m suspecting isn’t the original as the spare key won’t start the van.
Any advice would be great

Think you may need to wire a bypass unit into your wiring but also that you may have already done some permanent damage by not using one in the first place.

Yea cheers, I'll be putting one of those bypass units in now but was ondering what are the options out there for me to resolve the issue or even identify the fault with the BSi.

Hi, here are the diagrams for your stop,indicator & side lights.
Firstly I would replace your original Bsi back in your van checking all the fuses first. Other Bsi's are coded to there own chassis and so won't work correctly if used on there own.
Also check all the Bsm (engine fuse box) fuses.
Do this with the battery disconnected then do a proper reboot of your bsi when finished.

Thanks again for that, I've already checked all the fuses (BSI & BSM) it was the first thing I done but haven't done the reboot yet. I'll have to have a quick look for the instructions on the reboot I know it's on here somewhere. It'll probably be next weekend before I get time to have a go at this but I will let you know how I get on...

I has you bsi fault been solved? If not the bsi has built-in safety relays that can be reset 10 times. I advise that the faults be read on a citroen diag machine.

No I've been very busy over the last few weeks and haven't had a chance to do anything with this yet. I had been thinking about getting some expert opinion from someone with a Citroen Diag Machine myself, after all it can't do any harm...
I will post details of the out come when I get around to dealing with it...
