Replace rear speakers
#1
Anyone upgraded the rear speakers?
If I remove the rear square panel can I also remove/insert speaker without removing the wall panel (the larger one) ?

From the pictures on Catcar, it looks like you can just remove the grilles and the speakers from outside the panels.

the rear speakers are on the boot shelf not in the sliding doors, and I think the screws are from the bottom

I'm thinking to upgrade the rear speakers that are 5 inch (13 cm) with 6x9 inch, I have to make some measurements to check if the larger ones fit...
If they fit then I will cut the panel and install in place of the original ones..

I bought 2 adapter rings for 6.5 inch speakers, I will put this adapters over the original speaker cutout and then put some hertz mille pro kit 6.5 Smile

Yes. I have removed those speaker panels, and IIRC the screws are in such cramped places that removing is needed. No issue though, just plenty of unscrewing and unpopping stuff.

The panel might be flexible enough to allow the operation if you just undo it at the rear end.

As of my understanding, the recess around the grille is purely cosmetic.
