had a Caddy and Berlingo both fail inspection reports this week. Last roll of the dice is another Berlingo. Gets inspected tonight.
2016 1.6T manual with 127,000km on it
Is the ‘lack of service record’ a huge red flag with a van having done these kms?
I’m hoping if the service history is the only major negative then I can make the plunge.
Price is competitive as body has some wear and tear.
2 owners and not a trade van
Thoughts ?

I'd be concerned that the same lack of care the previous owner(s) gave the body (it's only 6 years old) was also applied to the servicing.
(Conversion for non-metric folks: 127,000 km is roughly 79,000 miles)

The lack of service records itself may not be a problem but if in fact the van hasn't had the required attention (how can you be sure of this?) then I'd say it is cause for concern/reason to avoid. On time/mileage oil and filter changes with the specific recommended oil really is critical on the 1.6 diesel engine.

There's no good reason to not have a service history - usually suggests a poor or absent servicing schedule! Unfortunately you'll be likely to pay the price for that when something lets go when you become the owner.
Most private owners keep the bits of paper.
Walk away and find another.

My 15 year old Berlingo has had no service history for the last 12 years as I do all my own maintenance.

But I assume that means you've taken care of your vehicle, whereas the one being assessed is a low price due to bodily wear and tear, even though it's only 6 years old, so I'd suspect it hasn't been looked after.
