Multiplug in BSI box / fuse box ELECTRICAL
#1
Hi all,

So I’ve got a Berlingo M59 diesel & the fuse for the instrument cluster keeps blowing. I’ve isolated it down to a plug, but I’m not sure what the connections on the plug control / go to. I’m fairly certain there’s a short somewhere causing the fuse to pop. Interestingly, the instrument cluster works with this connector unplugged. So the connector doesn’t control the instrument cluster but, when  it’s removed, the fuse doesn’t pop and everything works.

Just wondering what this loom & connector would go to. It looks like the dashboard will have to come out to check it properly?

It’s a black connector, 16 pin, with a red release tab. Beside a green 16 pin connector. Pictured below.

Diagrams would be appreciated. I’ve had a look at the threads previously posted, but I haven’t come a cross any good diagrams etc. Would anyone have a Haynes Manual for this van/engine. Open to purchase a copy of the Haynes manual if it’s no longer useful to you.

All suggestions helpful and appreciated.

Thanks

The manual for the M59 is available via a link posted on here, it should show up via a search. The manual does not cover the 1.6D engine though, what engine is yours?
The diagram that you posted above does not look like the BSI, but it's been a while since I looked at the M59 so I'm guessing it's the fuse box inside the car?

It is the BSi.

From what I can find out, the plug you point out is PH1 which is the 16 pin power connector to the passenger compartment and controls the following items: (these may not all apply depending on model / options) but could be close enough for you to troubleshoot.

Pin Function
1 LH stop-lamp supply output
2 -
3 COMFORT VAN supply (parking assistance ECU)
4 Rear fog lamps output
5 Rear wiper supply output
6 -
7 Reverse lamps output (reverse gear)
8 Protected distribution (second wire) (BAT_1)
9 Heated rear screen output
10 RH stop-lamp supply output
11 Rear RH side lamp output
12 Accessories positive supply for the rear harness
13 Right-hand rear indicator output
14 Left-hand rear indicator output
15 Rear LH side lamp output
16 BAT+ supply

Yep it’s the fuse box in the van, and it’s the 1.6D. Is there a manual for the 1.6D on the forum? I can’t seem to find it!

Thanks for your reply ?
