USB set up to play music
#1
Hello all

So this is my first car without a CD player... wanting to just digitise my CDs onto a big hard drive and play via USB.  But when I tested this, it says the USB device is not compatible and goes no further.  It's a USB3 device and format is MP3.  Has anyone managed to get music playing from a USB?

Thanks

Martin

I've answered my own question... I had to re-format the drive, using a free piece of software, to FAT32 format. Now works a charm.

Once you start using it could you check if yours behaves the same way as mine - occasionally cuts out the source and plays FM for a few seconds, then continuing the MP3. Non-nav screen.

I've not had that problem.

But I've had other issues with the meta tags on the tracks not being picked up by the car, despite amending them on my laptop.  I don't know if it's just going to take an age to sync as I put a lot on there.

Also - over 8,000 tracks on the hard drive, but seemingly only 5,000 listed on the car display.  I fear I may have stretched what Citroen intended for USB connected music.
