starter relay

My van wont start on the key, when turning key to start position i just get a clicking from in the under bonnet fuse box, the van starts fine if i cross the starter, where is the starter relay located? 09, b9, 1.6 90.

Is it a B9? I answered your post in the M59 section. What year is it? Prior to 2008, it's likely an M59 as they crossed over on 2008, after that year, it's a B9 (forgetting the newest K9 and the early M49)

There is no relay, it's an electronic module. Have a look at my reply to your other post, if it is not an M59 then let me know as I have to dig out different drawings.

Ok I'll take a look at the docs tomorrow at work. The fuse box is not that different but I have to check the drawings.

What do you mean by, 'the van starts fine if I cross the starter?'

I assumed it meant by-passing the starter solenoid with a screwdriver ?

Ok to the OP (Sky's Dad), here are the B9 engine bay fuse box layouts and fuse / relay list.

Fuse F8 in the engine bay is the starter motor 25A relay fuse (the location of the relay itself is secret) - check that first.
