Selling 18 Reg Berlingo

Hi all,

I'm a first time poster looking for some advice please.
My wife is looking to sell her Berlingo multispace.  It's a 2018 (pre facelift) petrol flair with modutop roof.  We have used it with an amdro boot jump which we will also be selling.  Would it be best to sell the car and boot jump individually or as a package and where would be the best place (s) to sell?

Well as a start, you could try to sell the vehicle and Amdro on here, there are separate forums for selling vehicles and parts [The parts forum is where people have listed Amdros and some of the other conversion kits in the past] At least there aren't any costs for advertising on here.   

Personally, I would try to sell the Amdro separately, as the market would be larger, as I believe the Amdro boot jump fits a few different vehicles apart from the Berlingo [and Peugeot Partner] I think it also fits the FIAT Doblo and Renault Kangoo?

There are many variables to consider.
Condition of car.
The highest price you would like to get.
The lowest price you'd accept.
How quickly you want/need to sell.

Ideally, it is in good nick and you are not in a hurry to sell, meaning that you are happy to hold out for a good offer.

First thing first - as already said, advertise it on this forum.

If the car is in good or very good condition and you are not in a hurry to sell, I'd suggest something like an Autotrader ad, but make sure it is well-written with a great deal of info on the car, and also has a LOT of good photos.

It may be worth paying for the services of a detailing specialist to make the car that bit more attractive. I have no idea how much they charge though.

For the photos, take the car to a local beauty spot or country house hotel (have a coffee while you're there to justify parking your car on their drive) or to an event such as a classic car show, to get some attractive background in your photos.

Get a full list of all the gadgets and extra options your car has but don't list them all - it's tedious reading. Just pick out the highlights, must-haves, desirables, and unusual things. Describe each one lovingly in a few (only) words rather than just listing them blandly. It shows that the car's driver loved driving it.

Also write a short bit on how you've had great times in the car, or at least hows it's been used and maintained by you, the idea being to give the same impression - the car has been loved not abused.

If the MOT has less than say 6 months left to run but you know the car is good, get a new MOT - having 12 months or nearly so always helps a sale.

Another possible option which isn't done much by sellers I think but could be worth the investment, might be to have an independent mechanic inspection done. If its report is good, post it up as part of the ad. If it shows up issues which would put you off buying, then bury it.

Also consider selling on social media such as FB, and in local stores such as newsagents and supermarkets. In these printed ads, include a weblink or QR code leading to more details online.

Post a few pictures and a price with mileage and any relevant details on here, that may be enough to elicit an offer from a member or prospective buyer (lurker).
