Yup, sounds a bit sad.
But, when I accidentally tread the go & stop pedals at once on VAG cars,
the engine management comes up with a sensible guess & cuts the go pedal when the brake pedal is applied at the same time.
The 1.6hdi on my Partner (I know, I know) in the same situation assumes you really want to arrive at the accident.
Do your cars ignore the throttle if the brake is applied? (& I have a duff brake switch not talking to the engine management).
Thanks if you could let me know.

Edit Reason: edited about ignoring throttle
)
There have been a few times when pressing the brake i wonder who the hell is revving the head off their engine so you are not alone.
And no it does ignore the throttle.

Looks like a win for Volkswagen unfortunately.
It's about the only thing I really dislike about the Berlingo/ Partner.
Pity, as it would probably be a minor software update.
Looks like pedal adjustment is on the cards.

It's only happened to me when I drove in my rigger boots so I avoid doing it by not driving in them.
So where does this bit go then ?

This is fixed on the B9, you can't touch the brake & throttle together or the throttle is cut to zero, as it should be on any drive by wire system (electronic pedal).
I would have thought the M59 would also be like this at least on the 1.6HDi, not so on the other engines with a cable throttle. Surprising to learn it doesn't.
