Centre console - alternative to factory fitted option
#1
I took delivery of my new Berlingo in March after a nine month order time... When it came they'd not fitted the centre console option that I had requested. Nothing could be done about that now so I just got the refund for the option.

However, I missed the big roll top bin that I had on my 61 reg, so looked at alternatives. It's not well documented, but you can very easily prise off the piece of trim that sits between the two front seats and lo and behold,  the same fixings are there as on the B9 era.  I bought an original citroen spare of the B9 box and with a little foam padding placed underneath it, it fits fine.

It's clearly not as fancy as the factory fitted option which joined to the dash and included air blowers to the back seat passengers, but at least I've got a better place to lob a sandwich now. And an extra place to put a coffee.

Any chance of a photo, our Vauxhall Combo life doesnt have a centre console either

Yes, that's the one. If I'd known, I'd have salvaged mine from my B 9 before it went off as part exchange!

if it's the same console the you need to replace also the base for it, the console holder
https://eshop-peugeot.cz/gb/cabin-fittin...ce-b9.html

also some carpet needs to be put between the console and the holder for anti vibration and noise

No, so actually, this was the revelation.  You don't need a new base part.  You simply unclip the floor trim and there are clips on the floor revealed, which accept the old B9 Centre Console storage box.  You definitley need to pad the gap, as you say to achieve a snug fit.

But the point is, if you've got a K9 Berlingo without the factory fit centre console, you can add the B9 bin straightaway, with only that bit of padding needed.

Hi Peter. Sorry for the delay. Missed your request for a photo. As per my comments above, you just remove the floor tray trim, see photo attached.

And then the box that deejay_xb linked to fits that gap. You just need to lay some wadding in the gap to enable a snug fit.

Will this work for the base model which has a handbrake also in this location?

I’m trying to think back to my 63 reg Berlingo which also had a manual handbrake and how the console box fitted next to it

That is a good question, to which I don't know the answer. If there is a blank tray piece there and it looks like there's space for the box then you could try doing what I did -  prising it up and seeing if the locating lugs for the box are revealed.

I've wondered the same question about the handbrake as mine has the manual one. I have in my mind that the B9 handbrake was set closer to the seat.
Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.
Before a 2010 B9 1.6 HDi diesel.
