Replace manual mirror with electric
#1
Hi,

I recently bought a 2006 Citron Berlingo and noticed that the mirror switch trim was not attached (see photo).

Once I found the mirror switch trim in the glove compartment I noticed that there wasn't a hole for the manual gear for adjusting the mirror. You can see an example here:
https://rrr.lt/en/used-part/mka1284-9619...witch-trim

It appears I need to buy the version with the hole in it found here:
https://rrr.lt/en/used-part/vei44123-961...witch-trim

Since I have the controls for the electric mirror on my dashboard I am tempted to try and restore the wingmirror back to the electric version. The only problem I have is that I can't find the electrical connectors for the mirror. Would they be hidden behind the door or maybe there was an electrical issue and the previous owner decided to simply replace it with a manual mirror?

Thanks

After removing the wing mirror I noticed that the wires had been cut (see photo).

Since I can't think of a way to fix the wiring I am just going to buy a new mirror switch trim.

On all M59 Berlingo's to my knowledge, the passenger side mirror is electric adjust, and the driver's side is manual, as the driver's mirror is near enough to just set manually and the passenger side is not, I suppose you could fit the passenger mirror from a LHD car or van to the RHD version and connect the wiring up but there is only one control so it may still not work.

From your picture it looks like yours is a LHD? The mix of manual and electric is normal anyway to all models as far as I know.

If yours is RHD and someone has fitted the manual version in the passenger position, then it would maybe be possible to extend the working with the door panel off, but perhaps there was a bigger issue on the BSI preventing the mirror from working so they converted it.
