Heated seat - options?
Heated Seats,

The Dealer mentioned that often the French Versions of the same car in the UK has an option for heated seats. Rather than take this out for the UK market the elements are often left in the seat but not wired up.

I couldn't find any option on the French site for the Berlingo Multispace for heated seats, but I would like to know if;

A) they are prefitted but need a supply or
B) how easy is it to retrofit.

I am more interested in the back element than the seat element as after a hard day working My back suffers and I have always had heated seats in previous cars as an option.

i would be keen to know also? Pk ?
It would be interesting to see whether Citroen use a basic loom for all markets with these sort of things just added or deleted according to markets (and thus could potentially be retro-fitted) I am sure that pk can throw some light on this. I can't imagine that on Scandinavian or Russian supplied cars you couldn't specify heated seats!

Slightly off-topic, other anomalies seems to be that in the UK you can have cruise control but it does not appear on the French options. Conversely, the French can specify a tyre pressure warning which I can't see on the UK options.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.

Oh yeah, I'd be interested too. pk7478 if you have time chime in please.

Funnily enough, this old fart was farting about at the weekend, I was messing about beneath the driver's seat on my 'lingo mk2. Found the connectors for the seat-belt pre-tensioners and sorted them out (hopefully) but there is another connection block under the seat and I am curious as to what it is or what it does.

Possibly you could have answered my question.....

he he he this is what I like about forums....a chance to beat the system [citroen] wouldnt it be good if we worked out all the options from differant countries and were able to retrofit some of them to our cars.......
I am interested in getting the heated seat working if possible for all the same reasons as scarab plus it will keep the old "Chalfonts" warm in winter

Remember that some mk2's did have an electric seat option, underseat wires might have something to do with that.
Just a thought.

That would be useful as it would help with improving fuel consumption. I Wonder if the sensor is in the valve cap and it links via blue tooth otherwise it would need a sensor near to the wheel for the cap to transmit to.

after market kits are available and I saw this but quite steep the price..

Old news article but it mentions tyre pressure

"A wide range of competitively priced options is available for the new Berlingo including a Bluetooth hands-free phone kit, rear parking sensors, a visibility pack which includes automatic rain sensitive wipers, automatic actuation of headlights and a heat reflecting windscreen. Passenger, side and lateral airbags are also optionally available, as is air conditioning, cruise control, tyre pressure sensors], ESP and ASR. " not seen that either when I ordered it and double checked.

It's on the Peugeot site

From what I can see the sensors used fit inside the tyre and replace the valve. It's a technician at the dealer who will need to enable the option in the ECU to allow it to work. Perhaps someone at citroen can confirm it is possible, and how much the sensors are?
From what I can see on the French site, the tyre pressure system is a monitor in the tyre/valve rather than an Abs based system. It is likely that any extras like this, cruise control etc would need to be coded in to the ECU
