Not Happy
#1
Thumbs Down
Not happy with our new car which we picked up last tuesday 31-05-2022
We paid for the Drivers assis pack which includes adaptive cruise control and paid for the keyless pack

I tried it for a few days but thought it dont seem to work as i set the speed to 30mph, then going down hills it kept going faster, and when you get close to another car it did not slow done.

I took it back to Citerons, they checked it and tested it and said, yes, it is not been fitted, the last 2 citeron cars we had, C5 aircross and C4 Picasso both had it and i used it all the time
but now i cant use it, they said this is one of the last Berlingo to be made and all other are now E Berlingo

there were no notes or anything to tell the sales people that this item has not been fitted, very bad

it dose not have front sensors so they are going to fit them in place

So we have this car now for 3 years as it is a mobility car

You are entitled to reject the car - get in touch with your local trading standards people and after taking their advice put it in writing to the garage. Not sure how your mobility scheme works but speak to them too. Good Luck!

We initially ordered the driver assist package, but not the keyless operation when we booked the car over a year ago. But we were informed by the broker who we bought it with, that Citroën had discontinued this option about 6 months ago and about 4 months before we received the car.
To be frank at the time i was sceptical and wondered if it was a ruse fir us to cancel the contract so the car might be sold for a premium rather than the discounted price that had previously agreed. We agreed to the reduced spec and the car eventually arrived.
I was disappointed and surprised by the absence of front parking sensors, but I can live with that. Although clearly there is some forward pointing sensor as the car sometimes flashes a warning if it thinks im too close to the car in front.

That's the windscreen camera.

Back in February the dealer let me know that the Driver Assist pack/adaptive cruise control had been dropped. That and the centre console/second row air conditioning unit. Both of which I'd ordered. It seems poor that your dealer didn't pass that on, as they should have known, plus drop the price by the relevant amount. If you've been charged the full amount then you should at least be due a refund if you do decide to keep the vehicle. In the current climate it's not easy to get hold of a new car.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for a build week. The last thing the broker told me was that I'm unlikely to see the car much before the year end. It's looking like it will be at least a 12 month wait since ordering. I thought the Yeti I have now, 10 years old tomorrow, was bad enough with a six month wait!

That’s unfortunate, I’m waiting for my new Berlingo with some extra options selected including those, haven’t heard anything from my dealer yet. Strange that it’s still in the price list here, wireless charger disappeared when it was dropped. I’m from Central Europe though, I wonder if this is market specific… Do you know where Berlingo for UK market is being manufactured?

When have you ordered and which engine option? I have ordered PureTech 130 EAT8 at the end of October with estimated delivery for the end of October this year, but recently heard about early August delivery shown in the system ?

I'm not sure on where they are being made. The removal of the options was reflected in the configurator & brochure for the e-Berlingo, as the ICE versions had been dropped by this point.

I ordered the same PureTech 130 EAT8 engine in the Flair XTR trim (top UK spec) and XL/long wheelbase version. That was early November. Well, I ordered at the end of October, but didn't get the confirmation until end of the first week in November.

I had wondered about the electric version, but at that time only the Feel trim was offered, and it wasn't possible to spec up to the trim I wanted. There was a good level of discount, even on the e-Berlingo then, but by January, when the electric version of the Flair XTR was announced, all discounts had dried up. The broker normally gives me a monthly update on (lack of) progress, but there's been nothing this month... I sense timescales slipping even more.

As I understood, all are made in Spain.
