As above. The engine develops max torque at 1750 rpm and maximum BHP at 3500 rpm, so the 70mph/2400 cruising speed puts the engine in the sweet spot where it still has the guts to overtake or climb long inclines without resorting to gear changing.

They are fine, you can pack up and ride fearlessly on highway in my opinion, I have driven at 85 MPH on highway 3 months ago. I had this same fear of not driven on the highway for the past 6 months then I finally decided to give it a try. It was success. :-)

Like you, I did question whether I should opt for a 6spd model multispace, those higher power models are less common. So now I've got my 3rd 5-speed Berlingo and I needn't have worried, the engine noise isn't excessive at 80-85mph and the K9 model I've got now is a lot quieter than the B9's I've had before. I also wondered if the 6-speed gearbox would offer better fuel efficiency, it may but my 5-speed is doing 51-54mpg over a range of journey types

Most of my driving is done on cruise control where my B9 and my sisters K9 are both happy enough at motorway speeds*

Thanks for the reply all - Is this the same for both the 75bhp and 100bhp? (Assume the 100 is the engine to get). Thanks again
