Steering wheel radio control wire colours.
#1
Hi, I'm Dennis T, from North Yorkshire England.Thank you for allowing  me to be a member of your forum. I own a 2018 Citroen Belingo 1.6 hdi it has been converted so it can carry my electric wheelchair.
I am hoping someone came direct me to the right place.
My problem is I fitted a new 2din radio one of these touch screen ones. I had to cut the original car connection off as the new one didn't fit. I have managed to get working but need help with the steering wheel radio controls. Can anyone  tell me the colours of the car wires from the steering wheel control to the radio.
Once again  thank you.

Hi Dennis, welcome to the forum.

The steering wheel controls are VANBUS and not just wired to the stereo itself, the button conveys control messages to the OEM stereo over the VANBUS system and it in turn, responds. Once you remove the original stereo the controls no longer work, unless you fit a CONNECTS2 interface to add the functionality back again, search google for a CONNECTS2 stockist and speak to them, letting them know your head unit model and car details.

I've added the schematics of the stereo and steering wheel controls for your info, but you may not be able to make use of this with a non oem stereo as said above.

Hi Zion. I have a question. I've added the steering controls myself. Got the...however...I see there is a Grey plug and a black plug on the steering column control module. On my B9 the black plug is not connecter and there is nowhere to connect it. Could that make that the steering controls won't work? If so would it be possible to just replace the control module with one that has the black plug present?

That could mean you have a different com2000 module in the steering column without the audio stalk function, they aren't coded so can be swapped for a com2000 unit which has the plug.

It's the entire unit with the stalks already mounted normally that you would fit.

However you have to code the stereo to respond to the stalk controls using Diagbox, which is only possible with the factory stereo and vehicles up to 2015. After that model year, it can't be done except by DIY means, using pirated Diagbox as it no longer is able to do coding of functions.
