The reason for both, is the change from Euro 5 to Euro 6 which had stricter levels of NOx emissions. Adblue brings the NOx levels down to the required limit while Eolys helps to burn off soot in the DPF. It also reduces NOx but not by enough to be approved for Euro 6 so I think they retro fitted vehicles already in production or stock with Adblue tanks, so they could still be sold in the EU. They presumably already had the Eolys system fitted from before.

So how to tell if my 2018 1.5HDI has Eolys fitted?
What does it look like, where is it fitted etc?

If you have an Adblue cap next to the fuel cap, then check under the vehicle and just ahead of the drivers side rear wheel, there will be a large black plastic box bolted to the underside. That contains the Eolys system, pouch and pump. It's not a tank but it looks like one.
From what I've seen the 2016 was the most likely to have both systems. Depends on the build date (check the RPO number in my database - how to section) but some 2018 reg vans seem to still have both. I can't see a vehicle sitting two years between build and registration. Seems odd some late B9s have the dual setup and some don't.

Thanks Zion. I have not noticed the plastic box, but will have a better look tomorrow. Fingers crossed as it appears to be yet another complication.

Hi Zion
I have looked in the area described, in front of the driver's side rear wheel and no sign of a black box. The only significant component in that area is a round black plastic housing. It has a drain plug and a female hexagon aperture. I am pretty sure it is the main fuel filter housing.
Anyway good to know it does not have Eolys.
Thanks for your help

No problems, it's pretty visible when you have it as the cover is an obvious big black box so it stands out.

Post in the parts wanted section, or check eBay for "breaking Berlingo" and send the seller a message. This tank will be a bit rare, not sure how easily you will find one. Must be a wav getting dismantled somewhere.
