Touchscreen constant rebooting
#1
My touchscreen has been starting up saying Citroen then shutting down and doing the same thing over and over again. So no radio, or access to the screen.
I left it in to Citroen dealer today for a software update after reading posts. They told me I needed a new touch screen at £900. I paid £90 for the diagnosis but when I collected the car they had taken a tool to the screen and damaged all around the dash! Even scored the screen! How do I know they didn't damage the screen with brute force? I never authorized them taking taking the screen out I only asked for a software update and they never even told me about the damage! I had to take the car back! I'm a 30 year old female and don't know anything about cars. Any advice? I wouldn't have been paying £900 to replace the unit but now I'm left with the whole dash around it damaged and buckled!

Obviously going back to them is the first step. Getting an acknowledgment of the damaged they have caused . That would then lead to what they are willing to do about it. If the unit is replaced at your cost they should if acknowledging the damage replace these parts. It’s all a matter of how much responsibility they accept and what they are willing to do to fix it. You can get an aftermarket unit for a lot less covered in “stereo upgrade threads” on this forum. Go back,be firm and reasonable but don’t be fobbed off. It’s a difficult situation and you will find out how honourable the Citroen dealer is or isn’t! Good luck
