Double judder when decelerating
#1
Hi everyone Im a new member and looking forward to learning a few points which will help me keep my 2013 Berlingo going a bit longer !

I do have a problem that the garage seem lost on, and that is when I decelerate between 50-70 mph there is a double judder that appears to come from under the car, that funnily enough does not happen when the air con is activated. Does anyone have any ideas ?

I have a 2013 Berlingo Multispace XTR 1.6 HDI (B9) OSOBOWY (85 Kw / 115 HP)

engine , g/box or front suspension mountings ?

But I don't think the air con on or off would affect them

Thank you for the reply, the car recently had a service and the mechanic said the mountings were good, but after I tried it and the double judder is there at 60 mph and above bot nothing when I engage the ac compressor it's weird.
I've had new ac compressor fitted to eliminate the fault but when I turn the ac off I get the double thud under the car.

Thanks so much for the reply, it's an annoying fault as the car drives perfect with the AC on which in Spain is more on than off. However I really want to find the reason why this happens so it can be cured. I agree it feels "mounting" related but with the ac on the car decelerates normally it's only when it's off that I get like a double judder after a second or two when I take my foot off the accelerator, it's more prominent between 59 - 70 mph and less above 70.

I have discovered that at low rpm and in second there is a judder (AC on or off), I am now wondering if the gearbox mounting is the culprit, any comments please would be very helpful

Could be the lower torque mount (dogbone) at the bottom rear of the engine.

Hi Zion I have enclosed a PDF of the engine mounts and circled the one I think you are referring to

Yeah that's the one I was thinking about. You can get powerflex inserts for it.
