Please help an old idiot?
#1
Hi Folks

Filling up at a well-known supermarket yeasterday I pushed the diesel filler into my diesel tank (I'm not that dumb!) - Berlingo XTR, 2019 1.5 BlueHDi 130 - it didn't go well, I found this part (see attached photo) attached to the filler hose when I pulled it out - so, question, is this part of my Berlingo (and if so what is it and how do I put it back?) or is it part of the supermarkets hose retainer which I didn't notice when I put it into the tank (busy checking prices!) - and do I have have to go grovelling back to them to hand it back?  Google has not been my friend, I'm counting you you guys....

Help would be appeciated,

ken

It may not belong to your motor.

The question is does it belong to your berlingo or the person before you who just filled up ?

That looks very much like the device fitted to petrol vehicles fuel filling points to prevent filling the tank with diesel.  The diesel pump nozzles are bigger than petrol ones.  Someone will be facing a very big bill if they managed to fill and run their petrol vehicle on diesel!

It looks like it might be part of someone else's tank vent system. If yours works without it I would just ignore it.
So where does this bit go then ?
