So I have ran the wiring between the camera and monitor, powered the monitor temporarily from the map light terminals with the 5w bulb pulled (or the lamp stays on. Bloody multiplexer!)
The camera is for now, powered from the rear 12v socket so on all the time with ignition. The picture quality is actually superb, hd level. And the monitor is very readable in all light levels.
My Kenwood DMX125 is on route, so once it's here I intend to run the rear cam to that instead, but it's actually nice to be able to see the rear view on the van.
When the camera was first powered up, the brake lights all came on, but went off after about 20 seconds and now work normally. I think it may have been the combined brake and camera unit initialising.
Update to come on the Kenwood double din. Now looking for a cheap Connects2 to retain the column stereo controls...any for sale at a sensible price, please PM me.

The double din Kenwood DMX125BT has arrived, along with the Fakra adaptors for aerial and power / speaker plugs. Also a new side door handle end cap (as mine was missing) and a few other bits. Van playtime this weekend then!

Busy day...got a few thing done. Stereo fitted, new Bosch Aero wipers, and my seat covers. Well chuffed.
Starting the stereo install
The Fakra to ISO adaptor had the main 12v live jumpered to both the ISO live and to the ACC terminal too, so the stereo would be on all the time. Solution, split the red wire and splice into the van ACC switched supply, using Wago terminals and proper bootlaces on the wires.
White wire is the ACC switched live. Pink is the permanent live.
Wago connectors

I ran the wiring for the Mic and DAB+ aerial into the drivers glovebox, as the rear part is removable (swear words required) so that I can run the dab wiring straight through to the end plate of the dash and the mic and USB into that glovebox, by drilling a 22mm hole at the top of the removable bit, that way the cables can be in there and nothing can fall out.
Hole drilled with my trusty Cone-Holio (Beavis & Butthead reference for those who get it)
Inside the box with the insert back in
Cable route into the A-Pillar area, behind the end panel on the drivers side of the dash. This had the TeleTrac stuff inside it, so I coiled that up as it's no use to me. (OEM tracker & GPS antenna) - gets rid of the old Teletrac-Assist mic and old-school USB that usually hangs out of the A-Pillar trim on that side.
Side trim off, cable clips are accessible - the thick one is the GPS antenna on the windscreen, I'm leaving that alone for now.
Dab aerial fitted and trim back on

Mic position very useable, may run it to the little grille on the overhead lighting unit as that's where the OEM Bluetooth mic lives .
Finished.
Seat covers next, what a difference. Started like this: (very marked and have a few hot rock burns. If you know what these are!)
Ended like this:

A good days work, it's nice when jobs go well.
I like the seat covers a lot, they look great.

Thanks mate! Yeah they are thick and really tough, very well made. Hard to get on but worth the effort I think.

I had several posts on my van build thread covering 2 full pages on the subject of extending a USB socket, so I've moved them to a separate thread. See below if required:

Just ordered a set of OEM XTR roof rails from an online breaker, £145 shipped. I'll get these fitted at the weekend if they've arrived in time.
Also had to get an engine undertray and fixing kit, since mine is missing. It is weird looking into the engine bay and seeing the road. Previous owner or a garage must have taken it off and not refitted it. That burned another £70.

Latest update, XTR roof rails fitted at last.
Before:
After:
Well chuffed. Alloys next. And bullbars. And sidesteps.
No idea why the second thumbnail is upside down! (it works fine when you click it)
