Removing rear seats
#1
Which model is the one you can legally remove the rear seats, I need the whole space like a van, but I still want the windows all around.

You can easily remove the seats on the Berlingo Multispace, the van came first so the car is easy to strip back to near van proportions.

It's a van derived car, not a car derived van! Hope this helps. Just take them out, it's never illegal to remove seats. Can be illegal if you add them to a van and it's not done properly. But not the other way round.

It's matter of opinion about 'legally' removing the rear seats from the M49 & M59 as they need to be unscrewed from the floor so some might consider that a modification and it might be best to inform the insurers. On the later B9 (&K9?), the seats are removable via a catch & AFAIK, this is described in the owner's handbook so there should be no problem. At MOT time if the seats are put back in, there's no chance of advisory comments about not being able to check the rear seat belt.

It's also possible that if the item isn't fitted, it can't be tested and will just result in a note, if at all. Like the spare wheel, if it's there it must be good. If not, they don't mention it.
