K9 roof bars
#1
Hello everyone,

I am looking for roof bars for our K9. Our car has roof racks and it looks like no used bars I tried could fit these as the racks are too thick/wide.
Would be grateful for advice on roof bar mounts that would fit the Thule steel square roof bars as we have bicycle racks that can be used only with those. Thanks.

We searched liw and high for bars for our XTR buy kept turning up blanks. I contacted Thule to see when /if they intended to produce a kit as like you I have a variety of thule bars and kits. But they said thy had no proposals to produce a kit to fit the huge longitudinal bars.
I contemplated removing the fitted longitudinal bars thinking you could most likely then use the integral fittings with bars meant for the commercial vehicles. You could then also have 3 bars for a more secure and stronger load bearing.
But in the end I just stumped up the huge amount for the Citroën parts.
These naturally fit well and easily although the plastic understrap doesn't entirely fill me with confidence. Hopefully it's mot plastic but kevlar or something!

The Citroen roof bars for the K9 roof rails are great, look like they are actually made by Thule. Easy to get on and off.

Oh, thanks. In my mind these were flush bars which probably still don't exist.

The "plastic understrap" has a stainless steel core

I had Thule wing bars and fixings on my B9 and just transferred them over to my K9 and they were fine. It's odd because I just checked on the Thule website and it says they are not compatible... and yet they're currently on my car!

I agree - looking at the link shared below, they look exactly like the Thule ones I had, which I moved across from my B9 to my K9.
