Quite a journey, ordered and fitted a new diesel filter housing + new filter to protect the injectors as Id temporarily chucked in a glass type due to a leaky non-oem filter housing.
Seems like it enjoys blowing the boost pipes off, need to get one of those bead-rolling tools to give the clamps something to clamp to, turned it down to 16 psi for the time being seems a happy compromise for the moment. Also ordered some insulation and white underseal so will end up doing a build thread eventually to keep info in one place that other members may find helpful.
Drives well now, and it has no right to drive that well in reality, I'm quite happy with it - few small things if I'm being picky like tatty dashboard, 2 non-functioning lights in the heater controls, one in the cig lighter, crap OEM speakers and lack of sound-deadening so quite drony at above 75 in Mexico, engine wobbles like a typical 8v DW10 so rear bush thing needs uprating on this too as well as maybe attempting to improve/stiffen the other two mounts somehow, maybe fitting a secondary steady at the front of the gearbox?
The vibration at idle even when cold is almost non-existent inside so don't feel like it would ruin it to add some sound insulation, but stiffen the mounts and it would improve driveability.
I'd also love to experiment with a set of 306 front arms with the 3 bolt ball joint to bring the front camber out a tiny amount without lowering the van as I like the fact I don't need to slow down for speed bumps much at the minute.
Still awaiting the Swedish injectors, allegedly the nice man called Bosse ran those uprated injectors without a remap so would be cool to see how they work on a stock ECU vs the HDI tuning map.
Engine-wise had no issues so I've dumped all the water+vinegar+flush that was in there up to last week, fitted a new thermostat and some Toyota pink and she sits bob on at 85 even without a rad fan for now, but will definitely need to chuck one in come spring. The colour of the water that came out was.. not very nice so I flushed it with clean water and bled it about 5 times until that was fully clear, then drained that to make sure all will stay well.
