Hi all, I've been browsing this forum for a while undetected, soaking up all your information, but decided to create an account. Just came back from a two week camping trip in my three-seater 2015 Berlingo in Norway with a long list of possible improvements. I use the car from day to day, but want to be able to quickly convert to microcamper.
I've basically made a removable 30cm high box, the size of the entire loading bay, with drawers; on top of the box I've placed full thickness mattresses, one of which can fold out to 2m (the other is restricted by the bulkhead ladder frame). The drawers also function as a cooking/prepping surface. I've included some images for whoever is interested.
Here are some of the improvements on my list for v2:
- Insulation where possible, and a lining on all metal in the back to prevent touching it
- Removing the ladder frame so my girlfriend can also actually stretch her legs (with the big challenge of how to deal with the middle seat belt mount attached to it...)
- some rudimental heating to take the edge off
If anyone has experience with these things, other than what has already been posted (because I've read everything here), let me know!
