Hi all, I realise this is an impossible to answer question, but opinions might be useful ;-)
My 2017 BlueHDI will need a service in the next couple of months. My nearest main dealer is around 40 miles away, the nearest 'citroen specialist' is at least twice that. There are local garages where I live though, as you'd expect. I'm trying to decide where to take it for the next service. The car has a full service history, but NOT with a citroen dealer. It appears to have been well maintained from the checks I have done myself.
Is it worth going to a main dealer? Maybe there are software updates/checks they can do that a local garage couldn't?
I would normally think about going to an independent specialist to save money - but there are none near me. Citroen's fixed price servicing appears to be for specific jobs rather than for 'a service' (according to the web pages I found, anyway). I've not called up to find out costs yet.
I would use a local garage, but worry there might be some 'citroeny' things they don't do properly or are not aware of (I guess I mean quirks of the car rather than standard stuff like oil changing etc - I'm sure everywhere has worked on the 1.6HDI by now!).
In an ideal world I'd have a garage I trust, but this is my first time back in a Citroen for many years, so I haven't been through the pain of finding a good place to get it worked on yet!
Cheers.
