Jacking
#1
Does anyone have advice about jacking up the Berlingo with a trolley jack?

For example my Panda rear axle is not to be jacked centrally.

I've always used the 'knuckle' formed by the bottom end of the rear shock absorber - it fits into the cup of the jack, can't slip and is easy to locate in dim conditions! At the front I put a wood block under the chassis inboard and to the rear of the wheel arch before using the trolley jack - this keeps the jack out of the way of things that are being worked on.

Don't use the jacking points at the front, mine are crushed now. I use a block on the piece of chassis just behind them
So where does this bit go then ?

If you dont use the front jacking points how do you jack it up to change a wheel out on the road.

For home use I have a rubber pad that fits my trolley jack and mimics the scissor jack so that I can use the jacking points which then gives me the freedom to place axle stands in suitable places

Put the trolley jack cup under the wishbone inner mounting points or the crossmember. That's how I fitted my alloys. The sill jacking points are made of toffee.

I must admit the M59 was easier to jack up than the B9.

Thanks everyone. I need to get under the beast but have not been inclined to because of the weather.

As a novice to Citroen what is a B9 and what is an M59?

How much block is needed to go under the chassis when jacking the front?

I have owned a few cars that are like a pain to jack up and my current Panda is getting there.

However you jack it up dont forget to support it on axle stands before you crawl underneath.

I have had Berlingos since 2000 and have never had a problem with the jacking points

Thanks. It sounds to me like it is jacked in the usual sort of way. Is there a cross member somewhere under the engine that will take the (trolley) jack?

Either use a rubber 'puck', available from Ebay etc. http://www.ebay.ie/itm/155056406466?hash...R_ij15b_YA or timber at least 1.5" thick, or it will split. There is no central crossmember/point at the front of the vehicle and don't jack the engine or gearbox.

2003-2011 (overlapping) is the M59 (MK1.5 / facelift)

2008-2018 B9
