On our Renault it's 4th (when counting from left to right while standing in front of the engine) if I remember correctly.

Citroen cylinders are numbered right to left. No1 is at the gearbox end (RHS as you look at the engine)
terminal 4, to each plug output in turn is pins 1, 2, 6 & 7.

Renault?? Do you actually have a Berlingo? You give a lot of advice but quote Renault and the opposite numbering a Citroen engine uses. You do realise this is a Citroen Berlingo forum?

We have 2 M59s at the moment. That's exactly why I say in the beginning that it's a Renault, because the information may be irrelevant.

Ok. The plug pictured is from an HDi glow control relay, which the M59 comes with (when it's not a 1.9D) - I still don't get the Renault reference.
Renault and Citroen could not be more different too. No connection between them.

Why not use the multimeter to figure out what contact on the multiplug is for what glow plug, just do a continuity test between the wire that connects to the glow plug and the contact in the multi plug.
