Hello newbie here
We have 2016 berlingo multispace with adblue fault yes you guessed it new tank need.
In 2019 it was a new urea injector.
We have full service with our own garage not citreon
Reason for this post
If you have had your adblue tank done as goodwill with no cost to you.would you help us.
We had diagnostic with citreon now stand at £636.to pay towards tank and labour. Plus £148 diagnostic.
Citreon uk state they do not pay goodwill no charge to customer
Or wave diagnostic fee.
This is a huge issue for citreon owners with people paying £1000 plus at a time unfair.

My tank was done last novemember and citroen has no interest in helping out with this. All you do going to citroen with this issue is cost yourself more money i am afraid. Most good garages should be able to do the adblue tank for you.
The tank i bought came from a mini parts supplier as the diesel mini's use the same HDI engine strangely. This link will show you the pump https://www.neobrothers.co.uk/car-parts/...9818531680
It is however considerably more expensive than the 595 i paid for it last year

@ ggberlingo - has your vehicle had the recall on the Adblue cap carried out? The old one was all blue, and the recall updated it to one with a white centre disc - the old one had no breather vent, causing the tank to eventually collapse under vacuum as the pump fed Adblue into the exhaust stream without being able to let air back in to replace the volume of fluid used. This failure must take quite some time to evolve.
My van is the same model as yours, I open the Adblue cap each time I fill up the fuel tank, to let air in. I have yet to have the recall done myself, but it is listed as required. So far my Adblue tank has been fine, no help to you but I expect Citroen would say the recall wasn't done (if not) and so they are not liable if it wasn't brought in for it, and the tank subsequently fails. But..they are well aware of the issue, since that is what the recall is about.
You COULD get the Adblue function remapped out, since the MOT test does not test for NOx levels in Diesels, even the Euro 6 ones like ours. That is what the Adblue is doing, reducing NOx only. The UK MOT test only looks for smoke opacity which is unaffected by the Adblue, but is controlled by your DPF (so don't get that removed) - also gives more power or economy getting it mapped.
A remap is around £300 and they can delete the Adblue function with no issues for you going forward. Have a guess what I would do, if mine failed...

Can admins move threads, cos this one appears to be in the wrong section (I think should be B9, not M49)?

It is good on here...I moved your thread to the B9 section as you posted it on the M49 (Mk1) section - which is for vehicles 1996-2001 (thanks).
Luckily one of our eagle eyed members spotted it was in the wrong place so I relocated it.
I use my phone for all things internet and failed to notice that myself when I first replied.
If you have the old style blue cap then that is likely what caused the tank to implode under vacuum as it was manufactured without a vent to let air in as the pump depletes the Adblue fluid. This collapses the tank over time and wrecks the pump.

Hi Gill,
For what it’s worth I have just been refused help from Citroen “Customer Care” with the cost of replacing my AdBlue tank on 2015 Berlingo, 42,300 miles on the clock, bought new by me from main dealer. Reason given is that it’s too old. If I’d done twice the miles it probably would have failed sooner so I think this is discriminatory.
Women drivers cover fewer miles than men (stats available), for all sorts of reasons, so I think there’s a case to be made for unlawful indirect sex discrimination in considering only the age and not the mileage when deciding whether to compensate.
Topping off the “customer care”, the dealer has had my car for more than two weeks and can’t tell me when the new tank will be available as apparently they are on “back order”. They know my husband is having cancer treatment and needs driving to hospital but say they haven’t got a courtesy car.
If any other female drivers with low mileage have been refused help because the car is too old, please get in touch!.

An interesting topic regarding fixing the AdBlue tank:
https://www.elektroda.com/rtvforum/topic3827598.html
Does anyone know, if these tanks are the same for all BlueHDI engines or each car model has its own type/shape.
