If any body is undertaking this[I followed zen masters thread on it] I have bought some terminals that clip into the BSI plug to utilise pins 1&9. If any body requires these terminals let me know as I had to order minimum amount and have 10 left. They cost 24p each that is cost and the price of a first class stamp.

Btw, do you have a link to that thread from Zen? I have searched his threads and can't find one about retrofitting the heated mirrors.

It would make a good 'how to'.

Ok found it, will condense it into a how-to - but for now, here it is:

@ OMG did you need to use the tool? I'd have thought the plug pins needed would be empty to start with and only need the new pins slotted in from the back. After crimping or soldering onto the new wires of course.
I don't know if the front door rubber wire guides are the same, but I posted on my build thread how to release the rear ones. Needs a little screwdriver to release a small tab on a white part and then it slips out of the hole to reveal the harness route.

(27-11-2022, 09:30 AM)They have the little tabs as you describe but the 2 on the back(2 front 2 back) you can’t get to . Tight area even if you take the door limiter off. Can’t access it through the door gap and they won’t come out by just releasing the front two. Also mine appeared to be made from some type of hard crumbly cheese so breaking them was quite easy. All makes for a afternoon of great entertainment :@ Wrote: @OMG did you need to use the tool? Ah yeah that sounds like no fun at all. I'll have to look at mine. On the rear doors there were only external tabs x 2 on each end of the rubber harness conduit.

Likely needs new heated mirror glass, wiring to the mirrors from the BSI, adapting the switch on the heater panel to switch them on, and a fuse to be fitted to the BSI to power them.
