Halfords battery offer

Thought I would post this up as it might help someone out.

A few weeks ago I noticed my van was a bit slower than usual cranking over, I only use it once a week and it seemed to be back to normal for a couple of weeks. However yesterday it was very slow, I think it was touch and go that it started. With cold weather coming I didn't want to take any chances so took it to Halfords for a battery check, it was kaput. The guy on the counter said I could get another £5 off if I signed up to something for free (presumably the 'motoring club' they advertise) but there was a queue behind me so I didn't bother.

The battery that was fitted was 64AH and 540CCA so I guess was undersized anyway?

Not a bad price Ratty. Can't complain about a new battery for under £100.

Could be it was swapped with a smaller one at some point.

Btw if you have an AA membership, you get 10% off pretty much everything all the time at Halfords. They (Halfords) won't tell you that but I use mine all the time. Their own motoring club thing is pure nonsense, nothing is ever eligible for that 5% discount unless you let them fit bulbs etc. (Which I don't of course)

The AA one always works, they roll their eyes but have to scan my membership savings barcode. I love insisting on that. 10% is better in my pocket.
