broken ignition lock

Hello
I come with a problem, i accidentally used my Peugeot key in my Berlingo and now the original key doesn't turn (wheel is locked, tried jiggling ). What are my options? Can I just buy an used ignition lock and switch it out?
Any help is appreciated because my car has been under a pile of snow since the beginning of winter

Try harder to turn the key just don't break it off.

i twisted it pretty hard, don't want to have a broken key too. i probably can't hotwire it either, right?

No, it needs to see the immobiliser chip in the key head so you can't just rig up some wires and start it. The transponder pickup coil is in the outer face of the barrel surround.
You probably jammed the barrel.
A used ignition lock is fine but the blade needs to match that barrel of course, and the above still applies, the original transponder chip is still required.
You can't code a used key to a Berlingo immobiliser, so the transponder chip from your old key needs to be present, then swap the blade for the one to match the new barrel.

I would try to spray WD into the barrel, then bang it a lot, try the key, repeat.

Yep as said above. But If you're really unlucky, you may have bent a tumbler pin. Also try a fair bit of force on turning the wheel as you try to turn the key, the steering lock "spring" is pretty strong on these vehicles. Probably due to the EHPS being off when you have to unlock it.

thanks for all the replies guys! i checked it out this morning and turned out I needed to twist it WAY harder than I did before and luckily got it to turn!
now, I don't know if it's because of the cold but the car won't start, gave it a bit of juice from my Partners battery, but it just spins around, draining the battery with each spin (all the locks and lights started to flicker)
maybe I just need to try it a lot more while charging it but idk, I'm not that good with cars. (it's a 2007 1.6 petrol Berlingo btw)

I'd give the battery a good 24hr charge indoors where it's warm and using a vehicle battery charger not a jump start from another car.

alright so I took the battery off, put it charging with a wall adapter charger but, and I'm still bad with cars, it started charging and told me it's 12.3v and after a minute, it was 13v.
is that bad? am I going to overcharge it? and if it's already 12v, why does it feel so weak when attempting to start the car

A battery needs to be over 12.5v to turn the engine over fast enough to start, 12.3v is a flat battery. The alternator charges it at over 14v so you are not going to harm it with 13v
So where does this bit go then ?
