Clutch very heavy
#1
Hi all I just bought a nice 2012 berlingo just 104k miles.
The clutch pedal is quite heavy / stiff. Selects gears fine but pedal bite is at the top.
Is there anyway that I can make the operation smoother and adjust the bite?
Are these cable operatored or all hydraulic?

Cheers l

You need to replace the clutch disc and bearing

All hydraulic mate. Usually a sign of a failing clutch - the release bearing starts to seize on the guide tube and break up. Not cheap mind, expensive job with a lot of labour hours. My last quote was £1400 from an indy garage whom I trust.

You will likely need a guide tube too.

I'd go with the others, a clutch kit is around £120, though check the master cylinder. It's hydraulic so it should self adjust. Chances are the clutch in worn. If you've only just bought it you might be able to go back to the vendor and get your money back or the cost of the repair. Get it checked out at a garage. You have rights as a consumer

Let us know how you get on. The gearbox needs to come out through the wheel arch.
