Rear seat install
#1
Hi everyone. New one here and new to owning a berlingo. Actually new to owning a van. I have a 2012 model and I'm looking to add seats in the back for the kids. I got the van to take the dogs on walks with the Mrs and kids. On looking in the back of the van behind the front seats it seems like there is a void. So im wondering does this floor remove somehow to reveal the actual belly of the van? I thought I could just buy some seats and bolt them in. But if its a void then I won't be able to fix them. Hopefully someone can help and I haven't bought a van I can't do nothing with. Thanks in advance

Welcome.

Unfortunately, so far as I know the answer is no for all kinds of reasons. There are no seat or seatbelt mountings in the back and your van is not approved for rear seats. I'm happy to be corrected on this as it's just AFAIK.
You could possibly get a bench seat for the front to add one seat.

However, a quick search shows that I may be wrong:

Differnt floor pans etc, all welded.

Apart from anything else you'd be chancing your arm with the insurers in event of a claim ... not worth the potential grief I'd say, sorry.

The area behind the front seats where it would have been the rear passenger footwell in the car, has a plate welded over it in the van. You'd have to drill out the spot welds and as said, it's not straightforward to legally put rear seats in a van. This will cause all sorts of issues with insurance and likely, MOTs.

Hi,

Did you ever manage to add seats in the rear? I have a 2007 model and want to do the same! Thanks,
