Definitely not the glow plugs, not involved. Could be a bad battery, not enough heavy duty current to spin the starter motor, and if the headlights and wiper came on by themselves after trying to start it, that's a sign of a bad battery (the BSI is going into boot mode, not good to keep trying)
Try a booster pack on the battery or a new battery if possible, to eliminate that possibility. Next if that does not help, you may need to correctly reset the BSI as it can get stuck and even corrupted if not careful. I see your clock and date reset too, that also looks like a power problem.
Google "BSI Reset" but it basically is this, bonnet up, drivers window down, shut all doors, if you have an alarm, put something on the bonnet switch so it acts as if closed. Wait 3 minutes, make sure NOTHING is switched on and active such as hazard lights, and do not touch the doors. Disconnect the battery, wait one minute, then reconnect. Wait 15 seconds, then reach in the open window (don't open the door) and turn on the lights first, then insert the key in the ignition and try to start it. If all goes well and the BSI was stuck in boot mode, it will now start.
BUT check the basics, are the battery terminal clamps tight, is the negative cable to the body and to the engine, tight and intact, is the live from the battery tight at both ends, especially at the battery clamps? The lights are bright but need much less current than the starter. They can work with a poor connection where the starter will not.
