B9 rear spring/damper rates
#1
I've noticed that the part numbers for the diesel B9 and the Petrol B9 rear springs are different. An I right in thinking that the multispace has softer springs and different damper rates than the diesel vans to account for the load capacity difference?

Probably yep. The vans also come in 600 and 800 versions, that being the load in Kg it can carry.

So my 2014 Multispace diesel VTR will have the softer springing then ?

I would have thought the difference would be between the van and the multispace yes. Sorry I was a bit ambiguous tbf. Fuel type not necessarily relevant

Next question is is there any difference between the two models in terms of anything other than spring rate? I.e. is it feasible to simply swap out the springs for the stronger van variant?

Likely no difference other than load rating. The B9 and C4 Grand Picasso share an identical floorpan & platform and are the only two Citroen vehicles to use the exact same rear shock which is unique to them. The GP also comes in air suspension but that breaks easily so it sucks. Most owners switch to Berlingo B9 van springs and shocks.

Says it all.
