First trip to an Honest Mechanic!
#1

So I recently bought my Lingo from a quite dodgy bloke. No history, he had only had it a few months etc etc

I have now taken it into a trusted garage and they've checked it over. LOTs of codes, so many they cleared them and asked me to drive around for a week and come back to see what is actually current!

This is what they pointed out more mechanically, after doing a service (oil+filters).

What are your thoughts? Are these common faults?

I have two things that currently I need help sourcing.

p250d oil level sensor faulty (really hate that warning blinking on as I turn car on!)
p1434 FAP - Pump Faulty (need to fix this and maybe save the particle filter?)

Also I am considering the "upgrade" of changing the steering wheel. Would that "fix" the airbag issue?

Does anyone know where I can source a FAP? Second hand or new?

Hi there,

The pictures don't work. You can't share a Google image from your g-photos. You have to upload it here using full edit.

Ouch, that's quite a list. Though the codes could be old and the faults no longer exist. Genuine faults can't be cleared.

There is no way to know if the fault on the airbag is the steering wheel. There are a few components and any part could cause that.

The DPF can be cleaned out. The pump could be faulty or the LIN network connected to it could be disconnected (wiring fault).

You can't code a new pump or pouch or DPF to the ECU without Citroen Diagbox software or something equally professional. Even if you clean yours, the lifespan has been exceeded so you have to tell the ECU that a new one has been fitted.

You may need all 3 of the DPF (fap) components above. Wait and see what the garage say I guess.

I too bought my Bingo from what I would call a dodgy dealer (though I have another name for them that rhymes with hookie) and have had lots of OPP to correct.  It is no use going back to them as they are a good distance away but worse is they don't care.

I feel for you.

I don't mind too much at this point. For the price I paid of £1600 I expected it. As long as its safe to drive and nine if the fault are super expensive to fix I'll whittle them down hopefully.

If the DPF issues are genuine then it will go into limp mode soon (depending on the soot loading in the DPF at the moment) and will refuse to start eventually.

I don't think they started stop-start until much later than your [2012] model
