Piggy back something in the fuse board, perhaps hazard light?

I used a fuse splitter using the fuse position for the 12v socket.
Piggy backed a low rating fuse for the dash cam feed off this.
I'm not sure this is permanently live though and goes on or off with ignition.

Nothing in the cabin is permanently live except the hazards. But then you don't want your dash cam on constantly so I'd do as above. Piggy back hardwire cable from Halfords or Amazon and run it off the 12v socket fuse on the BSI.

I run my dashcam off the USB socket in the corner of the centre screen, which works fine.

If you mount your dashcam at the centr top of the windscreen you should be able to find a permanent live behind the interior light. I use an ignition live from there so that I dont flatten the battery if it is stood for a long time

interior lights go off after while and wont come back on unless door opened or ignition switched on
Correct. I have my rear cam monitor (mirror monitor) connected across the map light pins, but had to remove the bulb or it stayed on constantly. Mind you it works fine as I don't want the monitor on constantly. Only with ignition, which works fine.

You need to check all the wires behind the light
