Spare wheel
#1
Has anyone fitted the spare wheel carrier? If so, I'm assuming you need to jack the back end up ? If so how much? Would car ramps be sufficient? Thanks...

I went to the local quickfix and bought the fitter a drink to lift it. Eazy peazy to slot in the holder then.  Ramps may work but wasn't convinced it would and I don't have 2 hydraulic jacks to get the rear up.

For the carrier: Do I need to buy anything else apart from these two items:
https://citroen-shop.eu/gb/wheels/2886-c...l2-k9.html
https://citroen-shop.eu/gb/wheels/2884-t...ormat.html
(and a spare wheel of course).
As far as I know the spare wheel can be standard dimensions (16 inch size)..or am I wrong?
Thanks.

Have you got the hook that holds the carrier up when the wheel is fitted ? You unscrew it with the wheel brace in the back of the boot space.
So where does this bit go then ?

We have the Vauxhall Combo life version registered 2021. I bought a sparewheel carrier from a scrap B9 and modified it to fit (It came with the hook and bolt. I had the jack etc from a previous Berlingo. I also bought a full sized spare wheel, I was fortunate in getting one from an almost brand new van that had been written off after a front end smash. The wheel and tyre were only weeks old and so the tyre matches the ones on our car.

The hook should be included in the secod item (Tool kit box format) as far as I know.

Thank you for info.
So I guess "spare wheel" is just normal metal rim with normal tyre. For K9 I see the following specs for official spare wheel:
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:
  • Dimensions: 6,5J16 5–47
  • Tyre specification: 205/60 R16 96H
So it is also possible to buy rim and tyre separately and not as citroen part.

Mine came from a car breakers and you can fit the carrier when it is on ramps. I was fortunate that it was brand new. I dont know if a full sized wheel fits in the Citroen K9 carrier but it fits in my modified B9 carrier

I bought a K9 carrier and fitted it and a full sized spare wheel fits.
Blakey, are you not "on the buses" any more then? (I presume you get the reference?)
The link following is for a thread I started some time ago regarding my K9 that didn't have a spare wheel. Post 35(?) from Romahomepete shows a good photo of where to fit a carrier but I suggest you go through the thread anyway and see if that helps -

Now a 2019 K9 1.2 petrol.
Before a 2010 B9 1.6 HDi diesel.

I'm looking for a spare wheel carrier but there seems a bit of confusion from suppliers between the short and long vehicles (L1 & L2). Could someone provide a dimension (yotal length?) which would help identify L1 and L2 carriers. Thanks
