cooling fan issues
#1
hi all,
hoping someone has had the same fault or can point me in the right direction. My2012 1.6hdi multispace has developed a strange fault in that the cooling fan has started coming on when its not supposed to, more so when you turn the ignition off it stays on for 10 mins or so and is flattening the battery. The car does not overheat and ive had a garage look at it who says that all the sensors are working correctly. its annoying as when its cold outside the vehicle takes ages to warm up as within a couple of mins of running the fans in. I have tried to give it a long run to see if it was the dpf regening but this has made no difference. its very sporadic as some days its fine others its on every time you drive it. any help would be great as i don't really know what to look at next.

Hi
Have you checked whether there is anything obstruct in front of your car radiators or grill?

Is the fan running at a high speed? Quite noisy, you can hear it well against the engine noise? If so, check the fan resistor that located at the front of the car behind the front bumper. There the thermal fuse burns out, the low fan speed does not work and there may be a symptoms like you describe.
