Good morning all.
My juddery engine saga continues. New clutch kit with skimmed flywheel is in- no difference at all, still shakes the whole car while pulling away. I'm just wondering if there's anyone near me(Preston, Lancs) that has more experience with Berlingos than me that could have a drive and see what they think. If anyone of you local to me have diagnostic equipment (I believe it's called Lexia) and would be willing to help that would be much appreciated too. The issue is just very off putting and I avoid driving the car.
Thanks in advance,
David

Lexia (Diagbox) will not help, it's only for diagnosis of the electronic systems.
Likely the torque link on the lower rear of the engine is goosed. Very common problem and causes exactly that violent juddering when pulling away. They sell new ones but you can also get poly bushes for them.

If you are going to replace it yourself with a polybush, I found this video really helpful to see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xew03Q8W6Z8
Not berlingo, but Peugeot 306, but the position and system is very similar.

I've seen that video @ saskak, it is excellent and as you say, identical to the Berlingo version of the task.

If you have access to a welder. . .
Cut the rubber inside part from the bush leaving just the outer steel part in the housing, run a bead of weld around the inside of the steel part and allow to cool (cool it with water if you want)
The weld bead will shrink as it cools and make removal of the steel part of the bush much easier, it may even push straight out.
Just a tip.

What about the other bush at the end of the torque arm - the part which links that red poly bush to the body shell?
Is it smooth at all other times? Hot or cold, forward or reverse?

No, I haven't replaced that small arm Zion, as I thought that tiny rubber bush was still in good nick. I've also replaced the stock dog bone bush (under the power steering fluid reservoir) for a tighter fit Lemforder brand, but I don't think it improves things. Quite opposite, transfers all the vibrations onto the body, so I'm gonna put the original one back in.
Juddering occurs driving forward and reversing too while pulling away but also while engine braking in 1st and 3nd gear, just when I release the pedal slowly and the clutch is engaging. It's more obvious when the engine (and the rubber mounts) is warm.

That is weird eh. I had the same behaviour on my last B9 van, i.e. engine braking it would judder, I never got to the end of that before trading it in.
My current one bucks or judders when the bushes are warm and I pull away first thing in the morning, or after a lot of use, it comes back. I had intended that do the big poly bush at the back and that's it.
Not sure why yours is doing what it's doing. Bent clutch cover fingers? Bad clutch release guide? Oil leaking onto the flywheel from the rear seal?

I have something kind of similar in my M59 1.6HDi, but not quite so pronaunced as yours. The whole car shakes or at least I can feel it through the seat at ~1,500rpm, any gear, on the way up and on the way down, but less on the way down as the rpm drop quicker on the way down. I have yet to do the the bottom mount, but it looks rock solid. Not too sure yet, but I suspect a slightly blocked injector and depending on the fuel flow it judders somehow at a particular frequency or it is resonant at that point, as with some of the injector cleaners I tested it disappears for a few days.
I do not think that this really helps you though.
