Cannot fathom this out, Purchased the van(14 plate 1.6 hdi) and at some point in the rear an LED strip has been fitted which comes on and off with the front and rear interior lights,
I wanted to change the front light unit so purchased one for this model with the side spot lights in it..don't know if that should of been already there?
Fitted the new one and it would not work,
Tried the one from the back that does work in the back into the front and that wont work
Put the original one back and it works-single simple bulb

The BSI may not have the outputs for the map lights. Or they are turned off (coded off). I assumed all models had the map lights but obviously not.
The options for the BSI are coded in software to a large extent, but the BSI itself comes in three versions, low medium and high capability. If you have the one without the map light outputs, there's nowt you can do.
If you do, then it may be possible to code that on the BSI with Diagbox and the Lexia-3 interface but I haven't looked in detail at the interior lighting options in the software to say yes it can or no it can't.
Finally it may be just a fuse. There are two for interior lighting on the BSI itself, one is F7 interior lighting and the other is F9 interior lighting and map lights. F9 also does the cig lighters but F7 is lighting only. One of them may be blown.
